Book Spotlight/Giveaway: Mom Made Us Write This In The Summer. Ends Nov 5th
Mom Made Us Write This In The Summer by Ali Maier
A sister and brother, forced to write in the summer, and share ONE journal? Ugh.
This is exactly what happens to 10-year-old twins Maggie and Max Pruitt. When Mom comes up with a plan for them to keep a summer journal, Maggie and Max can’t believe it. Worse yet, they have to share!
Through their writing, Maggie and Max find out they have very different (and hilarious) views about growing up, family and life – a conclusion they only discovered because, as Max and Maggie say, “Mom Made Us Write This.”

Max & Maggie creator Ali Maier knows a great story. As an avid volunteer, hands-on mom and former teacher, Ali has spent years working with children, experiencing their life stories and crafting her own.
Ali grew up in Pennsylvania with her parents and an older sister. Separated by only 17 months, Ali and her sister experienced many of the same events, teachers and friends, as well as all of the fun and challenges that come with sibling relationships.
Today, Ali and her husband have two children who are close in age and share the same kind of close relationship (and the same kind of challenges!).
The most important part of Ali’s life is her family. She is blessed with a loving husband, children, parents and extended family that are a constant source of love and laughter.
Mom Made Us Write This shows a unique and funny understanding of the loving (and not-so-loving) relationship between close siblings and their family. http://mommadeuswritethis.com/about/

Wow! This sounds like an awesome story for my kids! I hope I get the opportunity to try it myself!

My granddaughter is 9 and she would love this book. Having a brother and sister share a journal was a cool idea.

I can’t wait to read Max and Maggie’s story :). I have a 6 and 3 year old at home and I am always giggling at their point of view on things

My grandchildren are each 17 months apart from their next sibling, and right now I think that is too close – too much competition for attention. I think Mom Made Us Write This might give them some ideas on getting along better.

This sounds like a great book that will prove to kids that once and for all, not everyone views things the same way–and no one os right or wrong (usually!)

My twins would love this! They’re 8 yrs. old, boy/girl and constantly arguing or playing. I may make them write a journal together!

This would be a great gift for my nephew this Christmas. I love to give them the gift of reading. Thanks for sharing.

How much fun this would be, how many of us always had to write a report on what I did this summer when we were in school, I used to and I would start saying it was boring, but when you start writing it there appears a lot more that we had done and had a lot of good memories.

I love the simplicity of the title. What a great idea for a book. My grandkids would love it and I’m sure they’ll learn a lot about the sibling they would share it with. Thanks for another great post.
