Thank You 2016!
Dear Friends/Followers/Readers/Authors,
What a year! As we say good bye to 2016, I will like to say a big thank you for showing your support. Thank you for giving your time to read the book reviews and taking part in the giveaways and leaving great comments.
Thanks to the authors and publishers for all the books sent in for review/spotlight.
This year I received over 100 books for review and spotlight. And I have given over 150 books as giveaways with the help some of the authors and publishers.
In July/August, Mymcbooks was still able to giveaway school supplies. Thanks to all those who have helped to promote my blog via Facebook, twitter and Pinterest.
As I take on a new row next year, I hope I will still be able to review/spotlight good books.
I pray you all have a blessed New Year 2017.
Be safe and God bless
Ella Johnson

Book Spotlight: One to Ten: Squirrel’s Bad Day
About the Book: Squirrel is rushing along a tree limb when she trips, losing all her acorns into the rushing water of the river below. Angry and frustrated, she doesn’t know what to do. Her good friend, Rabbit, lends both a sympathetic ear as well as a solution. Rather than get angry, Rabbit tells her, rate the problem on a scale of one-to-ten. By identifying and realizing the true importance of the issue, the issue may not seem so overwhelming. Adorable forest creatures help the sad squirrel put everything into perspective so he does not to get stuck in a rut over something that may not be a big deal after all. http://www.caroleproman.com/

Book/Author Spotlight. Giveaway. Jorie and the Magic Stones. Ends Jan 6th
About the Book: When Marjorie went to live with her frosty maiden aunt, she couldn’t imagine the adventures she would have with dragons — good and bad — and all the strange creatures that live in a mysterious land beneath the Tarn. The spunky 9-year-old redhead forges an unlikely friendship with an insecure young boy named Rufus who lives with his crusty grandfather next door. When Jorie — for that is what she prefers to be called — finds a dusty ancient book about dragons, she learns four strange words that will send the two of them into a mysterious land beneath the Tarn, riddled with enchantment and danger. Hungry for adventure, the children take the plunge, quite literally, and find themselves in the magic land of Cabrynthius.
Upon meeting the good dragon, the Great Grootmonya, Jorie and Rufus are given a quest to find the three Stones of Maalog — stones of enormous power — and return them to their rightful place in Cabrynthius. Their mission is neither easy nor safe, and is peppered with perils in the form of the evil black half-dragon who rules the shadowy side of the land. They have to deal with a wicked and greedy professor, the tragic daughter of the bad dragon, caves of fire, rocky mountainous climbs, and a deadly poisonous butterfly.
Jorie must rely on her wits and courage to win the day? Can she do this? Can she find all three Stones? Can she save Rufus when disaster befalls him? Can she emerge victorious? She and Rufus have some hair-raising challenges, in which they learn valuable lessons about loyalty, bravery, and friendship. https://ahrichardson.com/jorie-and-the-magic-stones/

Book Review on Amazon:
About the Author: I have done a little of everything – I was an actress for a few years in England; I have loved horses all my life, and have taught Dressage which I loved. I paint in watercolors, oils and acrylics, I sculpt, and now I write…and have found this last activity wonderful, challenging, sometimes frustrating, but always uplifting – there is something about a spoken word written on a page, that brings one to life. It is creativity lived at the max!
My second book is a slight departure from flying dragons and brave little nine-year olds, titled ‘Murder in Little Shendon’ it pulls you into a tiny little village in England shortly after World War Two, and involves the talents of Sir Victor Hazlitt and his actor sidekick Beresford Brandon, along with a host of delectable characters that I feel the readers will love!
I had enormous fun writing this…however pulling all the strings together at the end is quite challenging. I love the combication of Hazlitt and Brandon, and plan a second murder mystery involving this winsome twosome!
I have written a sequel to my first book ‘Jorie and the Magic Stones’ which will be out soon; this had a very good following, and several people have been looking for further adventures of young Jorie and Rufus. https://ahrichardson.com/about/
