Thanks so much to Ella for interviewing me and to everyone for stopping by. I feel so honored to have been able to write Robert Smalls’ story. He was such an amazing man! Happy Reading to All!

I think that this book – Seven Miles to Freedom – would be a welcome addition to any of our classrooms. We have the Buffalo Soldiers reinactors in our fair city, and I would love to show another way that black soldiers made a difference in our nation’s history.
