Book Review/Spotlight: The Zombie Chasers BK 6 and 7

The Zombie Chasers: Zombies of the Caribbean by John Kloepfer, illustrated by David DeGrand

About the Book: The Zombie Chasers take to the high seas in the sixth installment of John Kloepfer’s hysterical Zombie Chasers tween series, illustrated by David DeGrand.

Zack Clarke and his team—Zoe, Rice, Ozzie, Madison, and Olivia—have fled the infested coasts of Florida, chased by a ravenous mob of super zombies. With no antidote in sight, there’s only one person who can help them now: an eccentric explorer and renowned zombie expert . . . but he’s lying low in a zombie–proof bunker somewhere in the Caribbean. As the pals fend off decomposing pirates, crusty crewmates, and putrid sea creatures, they race to uncover the cure for zombies everywhere. But will they be able to defeat the zombies of the Caribbean before the cure and their plan go overboard?

My Review: The Zombie Chasers must travel from Florida by boat to the Caribbean to look for a new antidote for the super zombie virus now spreading through Florida. But only one man can help them.

So they journey to find Nigel Black but their journey wasn’t smooth sailing as they were attacked by super zombie pirate ship. The kids threw all manner of debris at the super zombies but the super zombie pirates just kept moving toward them, and the kids were running out of stuff to throw. They had to leave the cruise ship by boat and drifted away from the pirate ship.

They must look for the renowned zombie expect Nigel Black to make a new antidote. After finding him, he instructed them to find a frilled tiger shark and bring it back to him so he can work on an antidote to help cure the so-called supper zombies. Will the kids return back with a tiger shark or will they be shark food?

The author did a great job writing this book making it fun and an interesting read for kids. The cartoon Illustrations by David DeGrand helped tell the story.

FTC Disclosure: I received a review copy of this book from HarperCollins in exchange for a fair and honest review. I was not monetarily compensated for my opinion in any way.

About the Book: In the final book in the beloved Zombie Chasers series, Zack Clarke and his zombie-fighting team travel across the world in search of an antidote that will stop the brain-gobbling outbreak once and for all. With all the middle school shenanigans, fast-paced adventure, and hilarious black-and-white drawings that have made this series a favorite of reluctant readers everywhere, The Zombie Chasers #7: World Zombination is an uproarious, gore-streaked finale that readers will love!

From taming zombie jungle animals in Madagascar to unearthing zombie mummies—zummies—in Egypt to battling black-belt super zombies in China, it’s the zombie chasers’ slimiest adventure yet. Will the kids be able to get the antidote and unzombify the undead masses once and for all? Or will the putrid planet fall to the zombie scourge?
