Author/Book Spotlight. Giveaway: The Dreamer’s Lotus: Book One of The Lucidity Series. Ends Feb 20th
The Dreamer’s Lotus: Book One of The Lucidity Series by Mike Dickenson What if you could speak directly to nature? What if it spoke back? A young outcast followed by crows finds a flower in the forest one night – it is the Dreamer’s Lotus, a powerful hallucinogen that opens the mind to the meanings of the symbols. This can be helpful, especially when you live in a world where everything is symbolic. Corvus suspects the Elders of The White Village have rewritten the meanings of the symbols somehow. They say the forest is a perilous place, a land of madness and illusion. They might be right, after-all, inexplicable things have been seen there… They say the boy is a bad omen, part of a prophecy that will destroy the village. Only a brave and curious girl is willing to help him, even though she knows he is playing a dangerous game. If Corvus finds what he is seeking they will kill him, but he has to know the truth. Why is he the only one who can hear the voices in the forest and why is he followed by the most feared sign of all? The Dreamer’s Lotus holds the answers, but if he consumes it, the crows will be the least of his concerns. Most of this change has been self-induced and has almost always involved travel. After graduating with a degree in English Education at Montana State University, I left Elko, Nevada on a hitchhiking adventure which would culminate in Argentina almost two years later. This journey gave me a much needed perspective about our world and where we are going, both globally and individually. My experiences have shown me that humanity yearns for positive change, that people are inherently good, and that anything is possible. Our perception of the world can transform our reality before our eyes, and it is this message that permeates my novels and films. My writing is part satire, part literature, part humor, part parable. In an effort to change this world for the better, I strive to create works of fiction that both inspire and captivate others to find their truest potential. http://www.mikedickenson.com/author/

My name is Ella Johnson. I started Mymcbooks to promote reading. As a former teacher, I know that making basic education fundamentals interesting to children can be challenging. Education can be fun, exciting and captivating for children with the right learning tools. So my goal is to “make learning interesting and fun” for the children while they learn, by introducing them to fun books with colorful and captivating illustrations.
In 2009, I start the giveaway program giving away free school supplies at random to 2 winners each year. I also started a monthly free giveaways for books and gifts.
August 2010, I extended the free school supplies from 2 to 5 winners at random on my blog and also give away 20 bags full of school supplies to familes in need at Chick-fil-A in Brandon, Florida during their family nights. And in 2012, I beat my that number and gave away a lot of school supplies to needy families. Hopefully, I can continue to do this each year.
In 2011, I started writing reviews on children’s books then giving these books away free on Mymcbooks Blog. I increase the number of books we giveaway free to help support parent. My goal is to give away as many as I can each year. This is also a great way to introduce parents to new books.
Mymcbooks blog is always looking for other ways to give kids free books. So I started Mymcbooks Birthday Library http://mymcbooksbirthdaylibrary.wordpress.com/
My goal is to giveaway at least 300 books to children each year.
