Author/Book Spotlight. Giveaway: The Dreamer’s Lotus: Book One of The Lucidity Series. Ends Feb 20th

DreamersLotus_BookLayout_Full_Brighter The Dreamer’s Lotus: Book One of The Lucidity Series by Mike Dickenson What if you could speak directly to nature? What if it spoke back? A young outcast followed by crows finds a flower in the forest one night – it is the Dreamer’s Lotus, a powerful hallucinogen that opens the mind to the meanings of the symbols. This can be helpful, especially when you live in a world where everything is symbolic. Corvus suspects the Elders of The White Village have rewritten the meanings of the symbols somehow. They say the forest is a perilous place, a land of madness and illusion. They might be right, after-all, inexplicable things have been seen there… They say the boy is a bad omen, part of a prophecy that will destroy the village. Only a brave and curious girl is willing to help him, even though she knows he is playing a dangerous game. If Corvus finds what he is seeking they will kill him, but he has to know the truth. Why is he the only one who can hear the voices in the forest and why is he followed by the most feared sign of all? The Dreamer’s Lotus holds the answers, but if he consumes it, the crows will be the least of his concerns. Pages: 206 Cost: $12.89 @ amazon For reviews visit   Mike+Dickenson   About the Author: My biggest shifts in writing have come to me during times of tremendous inner-change. Most of this change has been self-induced and has almost always involved travel. After graduating with a degree in English Education at Montana State University, I left Elko, Nevada on a hitchhiking adventure which would culminate in Argentina almost two years later. This journey gave me a much needed perspective about our world and where we are going, both globally and individually. My experiences have shown me that humanity yearns for positive change, that people are inherently good, and that anything is possible. Our perception of the world can transform our reality before our eyes, and it is this message that permeates my novels and films. My writing is part satire, part literature, part humor, part parable. In an effort to change this world for the better, I strive to create works of fiction that both inspire and captivate others to find their truest potential.

  1. This sounds fascinating. I’ve not heard of it before. The trailer is beautiful and thrilling and makes me want to read about this new world. I wonder how I’d handle hearing voices of the forest. What would a snake say, or a tree? And is this a good power to have or a bad one. Sounds like both from the excerpt.
