Paddling to Winter

Paddling to Winter by Julie Buckles

About the Book: A Couple’s Wilderness Journey from Lake Superior to the Canadian North.

Julie Buckles and Charly Ray built a wood and canvas canoe, exchanged marriage vows, and paddled away from their front yard, planning to travel 2,700 miles to the Arctic Ocean and winter over in a tiny cabin. What a honeymoon! Told in Julie’s page-turning style, their story is full of humor and humility, rapids and relationships, love and life.

  2. Paddling to Winter sounds enchanting – I’d love to read it to live vicariously through Julie & Charly’s adventures. I’m not a ‘winter’ person but am fascinated with the Alaskan/Artic lifestyle.

  4. I always wanted to explore the wilderness areas in a canoe. I only experienced canoeing once, but it was an experience I have never forgotten.

  5. I’m curious to read about their adventure. I just couldn’t imagine me boating in any boat during winter.🙂. But I know it would be a safe journey by reading about theirs. Thanks for the chance.
