Keepsake that Educates!

Book Review/Giveaway: Gigi and her Girl. Ends June 13th.

Gigi and her Girl

Gigi and her Girl written and illustrated by Kathy Brandt

About the Book: A wildly popular picture book with fun illustrations and rhyming text. Easy for new readers! Told from both the child’s and the dog’s point of view, children laugh out loud at the contrast. When the patient puppy prefers to sleep with the more respectful, less smothering bigger sister, the spicy little sister needs to change her ways . . . maybe. Sweet, whimsical, and very funny! GIGI AND HER GIRL is a favorite of children and parents alike.

My Review: This book is so true and very, very funny but with a message for dog owners. I love it. The story is about a young girl and her dog Gigi. Each has a different point of view regards to fun. The little girl thinks Gigi likes to watch her tumble and twirl but Gigi wishes she was outside chasing squirrel.

Girl: We glide down the slide and then ride the swing!

Gigi the Dog: Really? The swing? It’s just not my thing.

Reviewer: LOL!

So why the girl thinks her dog loves to play dress up, ride in a basket with her toys, try to get her to play the piano and more, the dog just doesn’t see it her way. She will like to play outside, sleep and eat. It was time for Gigi to make her escape for the day, so she walked off to be with the girl’s big sister who lets her be a dog. Will the little girl be able to learn her lesson and treat Gigi the way she should be treated?

This is a great message for young children. It will help them to understand how to treat their pets from their (animal) point of view. I highly recommend this book.
