Book Review: My Very First Easter Story Sticker Book
My Very First Easter Story Sticker Book by Lois Rock; illustrated by Alex Ayliffe
About the Book: Here is a story and activity book containing a complete retelling of the Easter story presented in a simple manner for young children to grasp. The stickers are used first to complete the illustrations in the main story. Then there are extra activities on each page alongside the story–counting, naming, identifying–with stickers for each. All of the stickers are found in the center of the book where they are grouped and numbered according to activity to make it easy for young children to find the right sticker. A fun and interactive way for children to learn the Easter story.
About the Author: LOIS ROCK has established an international reputation as a children’s writer. Specialising in Bible stories, prayer books, and information books, her books have been translated into over 30 languages with sales approaching 4 million copies. She draws on her experience as a mother of three, and as a leader of church children’s groups. ALEX AYLIFFE’s papercut illustrations are bright and bold, dainty and detailed, with lots of character Alex Ayliffe has an established reputation as a storybook illustrator, working with major publishers. her first book for Lion was a board book, My Very First Christmas Story She won the Sainsbury’s Best Book for Babies award in 2000.
My Review: Easter is a celebration of Jesus’ resurrection. And this cute sticker and activity book tells the story. The story is a brief account of Jesus’ life, from His visit to the Passover festival, the Passover meal, to His death and resurrection. The activities with the stickers will keep children engaged during Sunday school or at home.
The last two pages give a brief summary of the life of Jesus which ends with an Easter prayer.
The illustrations by Alex Ayliffe are very bold, bright and beautiful.

My name is Ella Johnson. I started Mymcbooks to promote reading. As a former teacher, I know that making basic education fundamentals interesting to children can be challenging. Education can be fun, exciting and captivating for children with the right learning tools. So my goal is to “make learning interesting and fun” for the children while they learn, by introducing them to fun books with colorful and captivating illustrations.
In 2009, I start the giveaway program giving away free school supplies at random to 2 winners each year. I also started a monthly free giveaways for books and gifts.
August 2010, I extended the free school supplies from 2 to 5 winners at random on my blog and also give away 20 bags full of school supplies to familes in need at Chick-fil-A in Brandon, Florida during their family nights. And in 2012, I beat my that number and gave away a lot of school supplies to needy families. Hopefully, I can continue to do this each year.
In 2011, I started writing reviews on children’s books then giving these books away free on Mymcbooks Blog. I increase the number of books we giveaway free to help support parent. My goal is to give away as many as I can each year. This is also a great way to introduce parents to new books.
Mymcbooks blog is always looking for other ways to give kids free books. So I started Mymcbooks Birthday Library http://mymcbooksbirthdaylibrary.wordpress.com/
My goal is to giveaway at least 300 books to children each year.
