What is The Sword of Light?

No, it’s not an actual sword — it’s something much more powerful!

Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” As believers and followers of Christ, we need to outfit ourselves with this sword.

Ephesians 6:17 says, “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

Now here’s the real question… How many of us struggle with reading and using this powerful weapon daily? I have to raise my hand. When the Lord blessed me with this story, being in the Word was something I needed to do; not only to develop Shayia, the main character, but for my own spiritual well-being. Like Shayia, we need to learn to absorb the word into our hearts and not just our heads.

Why the Sword of Light? We are constantly under attack from the enemy. Our best defense and our best offense is to know who we are in Christ. Let us stand firm on the authority given to us by God.

Therefore, let us equip ourselves with – The Sword of Light.
