About the Book: Have you ever found a lucky penny and thought your day would be fortunate? In this short story, when Diamond wakes up and gets ready to go to school, he discovers a golden penny on his bedroom floor. Series of accidental events happens in this story when Diamond realizes this was actually a lucky penny.

My Review: Meet Diamond a little boy who was never lucky. He was not only clumsy but he was always accidentally hurting himself. And because of his clumsiness he didn’t feel like going to school. Getting ready for bed he wished upon a star, his wish was not to be clumsy. The next day he stumbles upon a lucky penny and although he had minor accidents, at the end of the day, he discovered he didn’t injure himself. Was it due to his lucky shining penny?
I love that Diamond’s mother was very encouraging and never got upset with him when he accidentally spilled the milk on his head and messed up the carpet. Great book children will enjoy reading. The illustrations are bright with bold colors.

  4. I am way bad accident prone. I’m one of those people that falls up stairs as well as down. Great that the mom in the book doesn’t get upset about his accidents. It’s so important for children to know that an accident is just that, an accident.

  5. Really cool, and this story gives me an idea of placing a penny to be “found” for my son. He has autism and we can use the lucky penny idea to help him with some issues he has, to feel more confident or to deal with stressful situations easier….maybe

  7. I know my daughter will love this book ! My daughter always picks or finds something she thinks will bring her luck (especially for her spelling test!) What a cool name for (Diamond ) for a boy.

  13. I wish I’d found a lucky penny or too when I was younger – my father used to tell me my middle name sure wasn’t “Grace”. This is a good way to introduce kids to “positive thinking”.

  14. I grew up with the saying, “Find a penny, pick it up, all day long you’ll have good luck. Diamond must have had a mom like I did, full of unconditional love and acceptance. Sounds like Diamond just needed to believe in himself. I would love to have this book to read to my grandaughter Nellie. I am a retired elementary teacher. I love children’s books and am always looking for new ones that Nellie and I can share together. Thanks,

  15. What acute storyline. I think it’s important to teach the lessons of life to our kids through books. I love the bright illustrations as well. Would love to win this. I have also had my share of being clumsy and will look for a penny myself. 🙂
