Book Review/Giveaway: Walter’s Not So Peaceful, Definitely Not Relaxing…Ends June 12th

Nancy G. Early is an enthusiastic author and a small business owner. When not working she focuses on writing short stories and books for children of all ages.
Nancy’s first children’s book, Walter’s Not So Peaceful Definitely Not Relaxing But Oh So Awfully Courageous Adventure, was published by Big Mac Publishers in November, 2011 and has received numerous glowing reviews; children and adults alike are still communicating their excitement about the adventures and lessons inside this delightful book. It appears on numerous popular blogs and media outlets including Facebook, Independent Writers, and Who’s Who, Wilma, Lumina News, Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Nancy takes such delight in watching children – their antics and what they say always keeps her laughing and amazed by their innocence and joy for life. There’s never a dull moment. She always wanted to write a book that children would enjoy, get excited about, and just laugh out loud as they turned the pages, but more importantly, she wanted them to learn something along the way, too. From the beginning to the end of Walter’s adventure there are lots of lessons about responsibility, sharing, friendship, encouragement, bravery, and love for family and friends!
Nancy was born in Greenville, North Carolina and currently resides in Wilmington, North Carolina with her husband, Tommy; in their spare time they enjoy tennis, golf, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Nancy is available for reading engagements. For more information, please contact her at and her website is!about-the-book

Walter’s Not So Peaceful, Definitely Not Relaxing, But Oh So Awfully Courageous Adventure by Nancy G. Early and illustrated by Paula & Anna Knorr.

About the Book: Walter and Squirt have adventure after adventure after adventure. This book is just right for bedtime – or anytime. And wait till you meet Mr. Bob! Your kids will love Walter’s Not So Peaceful Definitely Not Relaxing But Oh So Awfully Courageous Adventure as much as you do!

My Review: This is a story about Walter, a raccoon, and how he met his best friend Squirt while taking an adventure through the forest to buy fish from the fish market for his mother.

Walter encounter’s many obstacles on his way to the fish market, like tripping on a gigantic tree root and falling flat on his knapsack, chased by a swan of bees, scared by a slimy striped snake with dark, beady eyes then he came across a lost possum named Squirt who was hungry and lost. Walter knew his mother will understand if he fed him with the fish he got from the fish market. He had fun with Squirt and with the help of his mother; they were able to find his way home.

This is a great book for children who will learn about friendship, responsibility, sharing and having fun. A well written book by the author and bright and colorful illustration by Paula and Anna Knorr which helps tell the story. I highly recommend this book for classroom teaching.
