Book Review: Maria: Maria and the Pearl.

Maria: Maria and the Pearl written by Ghaliah

Maria is the story of a young girl enchanted by the sea.

Maria lives with her grandmother and spends all her free time at the beach, daydreaming about the mysteries in the depths of the ocean and longing to explore it herself.

One night, while perched on a rock overlooking the water, some other girls from the village mean-spiritedly push Maria in. She grabs at them as she falls, bringing them into the sea with her.

There, the girls get caught up in a magical underwater adventure as they encounter mermaids, fairies, and other creatures.

Dealing with mistaken identity, romance, revenge, and intrigue, Maria discovers a deep-sea world that is more amazing than she ever imagined.

My Review:

I really enjoyed reading this book were the author Ghaliah, talks about a beautiful village and a beautiful sea. The beautiful sea is a resource for the villagers who goes fishing and explore the depths of the sea to extract pearls. Then she talks about a graceful girl named Maria whose voice charmed the villages when she sings. Maria’s father passed away when she was very young and was raised by her grandmother. Her mother died during child birth but left her a big pearl pendent that her grandmother told her to always wear and never take it off.

If you like mermaids and fairies you would love the story Maria: Maria and thePearl. A girl captivated by the sea and imagined living in the depths of it exploring the mysterious world. But her grandmother had a secret she hadn’t told Maria and her life may be in grave danger. Will she tell her in time before the mean girls from the village tell the villagers?

What an enchanting story involving mermaids, fairies, love, jealousy and the mysteries in the depths of the sea. Great imagination by the author Ghaliah even though her story was laid out like a script every reader will enjoy reading it.
