Keepsake that Educates!

Book Review/Giveaway: View from a Zoo. Ends Dec 8th.

View from a Zoo

About the Book: Thea is a house-cat that seems to have it all… she has a warm home, plenty of food and a family that loves her. But something is missing in Thea’s life. Where is the excitement? Where is the adventure?

My Review: This is a wonderful story about a house cat looking for adventure in the city. Thea the cat appears to have everything, from the love of a family to a warm home and plenty of food. But Thea felt she was missing the excitement and the adventure of what was outside the loving home.

One day Thea had the opportunity to explore the city but it wasn’t as excited or friendly as she had hoped. But she did learn from Vern the lion at the Zoo that books can take you on an adventure every single day.

This is a well-written story by Artie Knapp a story with a great lesson. I love this book because it teaches children that reading books can take you on an exciting adventure. The illustrations by Sunayana Nair Kanjilal help to tell this story. I highly recommend this book.  To read about the illustrator click on the http://mymcbooks.wordpress.com/2013/11/17/mymcbooks-interview-illustrator-sunayana-nair-kanjilal/

  3. Many of my kindergarten students do not travel. Many have never been to the beach which is only 60 miles away. This book would be wonderful for teaching them the world that a book can transport them to.
