God Gave Us Love by Lisa Tawn Bergren and illustrated by Laura J Bryant.

 

About the Book: As Little Cub and Granmpa Bear’s fishing adventure is interrupted by mischievous otters, the young polar bear begins to question why we must love others…even the seemingly unlovable.

My Review: Little Cub went fishing with her Gramdpa and notices that the otters were scaring away the fish and was worried that they wouldn’t get any fish. Gramdpa told Little Cub that it was alright to share but Little Cub told Gramdpa that she didn’t like the otters for scaring the fish away. He explained to her that God wants us to show the otters love and that God would want us to love everyone.

I liked that he went on to explain that God created us to love and that there are different kinds of love. A love between mamas and papas, friends, family and the unconditional love God has for us. What a way to teach children about love and sharing.

This book will capture any child’s attention with the wonderful soft and warm colors illustration by Laura J Bryant.
