About the Author: Amy Peterson became a stepmother in 1994 after unwittingly falling for a guy with four kids, ages three, five 13 and 15. Since many other stories about stepmotherhood were as uplifting as lead balloons, Amy’s goal was to write a humorous book filled with sound advice. Her four stepkids are all 21 and older, which provides evidence that at least some of her advice is well founded. Amy has been published in numerous magazines and does weekly blog postings about nature, pets and life at amylpeterson.com much of which is light-hearted. She works for the state of Michigan and owns a ghillie suit, which she claims she uses to take nature photos and scare unsuspecting guests.
