Book Review/Giveaway: Riley Mack and the Other Known Troublemakers. Ends April 15th
RILEY MACK and the Other Known Troublemakers by Chris Grabenstein
About the Book: Seventh-grade mastermind Riley Mack and his best buds always come to the rescue when family or friends are in trouble, even if it takes some high-octane subterfuge and fifty pounds of dog food. Kids ages 8-12 will root for Riley and his “Gnat Pack”: tech-savvy Jake, dramatic Brianna, big-guy Mongo, and brainy Jamal. They’ll hiss for the bad guys, too—the bully Gavin Brown; his father, Fairview’s crooked police chief; his conniving grandmother, who runs a filthy puppy mill; and Fairview’s gambling-addicted bank manager, who tries to frame Riley’s mom. Throw in one stolen goldendoodle, two bumbling bank robbers, and plenty of duct tape, and the action never flags.
Riley Mack and the Other Known Troublemakers will have readers snorting soda out their noses, proving once again that Grabenstein is a master at concocting irresistible stories for middle-grade readers.
My Review: Riley Mack and his friends were on school break for the week and were itching for some action. Follow this fun action adventure book about Riley and his friends as they spring into action to save a goldendoodle that was stolen.
It is now operation doggy duty to find Emma’s Noodle; they posted flyers on telephone poles and parking meters in town. But that wasn’t all for Riley and his friends because it was time once again to spring into action and stop a bank robbery and more puppies from the dognappers.
Interesting read for kids ages 8 and up.

I think this book would delight the 8 to 12 year old boy- readers. Maybe even some of the girl-readers. Sometimes it is so difficult to get boys to read (they want mostly to get outside and play – or perhaps just play action games on their I-pods, computers, and x-boxes). But if you can get the boy to sit long enough to begin this one, I believe you’ll capture his attention. Both the boy and the dog on the cover have such delight and personality written all over them.

What an exciting adventure for Riley and his Gnat Pack – working together to rescue a dog and evade the bad guys. This book would appeal to my grandson and granddaughetr who is just starting chapter books.

Riley and his friends sound like a group my grand kids would enjoy. It’s harder to get the boys to read sometimes but I think this would be a read they could and would get into. I commented on the interview. Thanks for the opportunity.

This book sounds like a great, funny, but adventurous read! I love the descriptions of the characters. My son is getting into more of these types of books and he would love to read this one.

sounds like a great book!
When I saw the title Riley Mack and Other Known Troublemakers, that made me laugh because I could just see a bunch of kids getting into trouble like on that movie The Goonies. They’re really not trouble makers they’re just getting on the adults’ nerves. Cheresevines@hotmail.com
Riley Mack sounds like a very feisty and determined person. I look forward to reading about his adventures.
