Book Review & Giveaway: Marie and Her Friend the Sea Turtle. Ends August 7th
Marie and Her Friend the Sea Turtle by Nicole Weaver and illustrated by Ruben Chavez.
A delightful story about compassion and the richness of family love and devotion!
This story is about the love that developed between a little girl named Marie and a stranded sea turtle. The story tells the struggles Marie had as she helped the sea turtle back out to sea.
My Review: This is a great story written by the author in 3 different languages, English, Spanish and French. Marie was seeking seashells at the seaside when she came across a huge sea turtle who was finding it difficult to crawl back into the ocean. She came to its aid and tried to help but the turtle was too huge and she needed help. Her parents was standing at the seaside and the taught of asking them was out of the question for they will take the turtle home and cut it up to make stew.
What is Marie to do? Will her parents cut up the turtle for stew or will they help the poor turtle? You just have to buy your own copy and find out…lol!
This is a great story about friendship between a young girl and a sea turtle and her desire to help it back into the ocean. The story is also told in two other languages, a great way to promote other languages. This is a must have for parents and classroom teaching. One of the best watercolor illustrations I have come across by Ruben Chavez.

Thanks for the giveaway
My daughter loves to learn about all kinds of animals. Dinosaurs are her favorite. I always try to find books to read together that teach life lessons in a fun, entertaining way.
I love that this book relates the story in three different languages. My granddaughter has a Hispanic background
and how wonderful it would be to read her the story in English & in Spanish!

Several of my grandchildren are of Spanish descent and speak fluently. My 10 year old granddaughter and 9 year old grandson would be perfect for this giveaway. How educational and fun would it be to read it in English and Spanish ? Great story line as well. GFC follower under Lucky47.

We love turtles, and this book looks like it is written so lovingly. I love the fact that it is teaching kids other languages as well! What a wonderful idea!
I love how this book is written in several different languages. My nephew and niece already understand english and spanish, so working on french would be great. Thank you so much! edysicecreamlover18ATgmailDOTcom
Cover is cute, story sounds great, and 3 different languages sound super appealing
Great giveaway!
I’ve found that kids are fascinated by other languages, and to be able to see the other languages and feel like they are “reading” another language encourages them to study languages later in life. This would be a great book to encourage language exploration.

Even though my grandchildren are only 6yrs old, I think they would love this story (with help). The english/spanish would be great, my grandson is starting to learn to speak spanish. This would be great to see the words in english and then spanish.

The cover illustration is very cute and I thought it was funny that the turtle is bigger than Marie.
